Poopie Prison

NEWS :     Pathetic Prison Tale!

0315camp2 It is another field fest for the all knowing Philippine media vultures. Guess what? Abu Sayyaf inmates took over two (2) floors of the maximum security detention quarter at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City. The SUPPOSEDLY secured jail facility was overpowered early last Monday (14 March 2005) when the detained terrorists, who have strong ties to the Al Qaeda global network, attempted a breakout seizing guns and killing two (2) prison guards and wounding many along the way. Two (2) on their side also died during the initial incident. Negotiations were made for the surrender of the acquired pistols as the fearsome radicals turned to their non-affiliated high-profile inmates and took them hostage as well (now this is really BIZARRE)! Talks failed and the standoff persisted till nightfall. As hundreds of police had surrounded the facility, sharpshooters positioned themselves on the rooftops while armored transports parked in front of the main gate and the media men scourge over the open fields interviewing officials and rank officers. Also on the nearby hill are local children playing carelessly unmindful of the growing intensity.

Lomibao_arrives Whether this be a matter of concern regarding lax security, dilapidated facilities or just plain STUPIDITY, the media frenzy will always have its way of making sure the ill fate of our country gets sensationalized throughout the world in a jiffy! Now this is very good way of promoting our country eh? (I was being sarcastic here…) Why can’t they just SHUT UP? Why can’t the government implement an effective media blackout? Or better yet, why can’t our politicians stop their selfless self promotion by just not intervening in matters they don’t even have a clue of?

Anyway, the prison revolt came to an end the following day (thank God the agony!) resulting into the additional deaths of three (3) top Abu Sayyaf leaders, one (1) policeman and (consider this as COLLATERAL) eighteen (18) other unidentified prisoners. Minimal damage was done on the police force as only six (6) got wounded in the final encounter. As Administration military poster boy now Head of the Department of Interior and Local Government, Secretary Angelo Reyes said, “the crisis is over”… Or is it really?

DESKTOP :     Dallying with Daybreak…

Imagine its late night and you’re still grueling in front of your workstation to finish a grand presentation for tomorrow’s meeting. Ever wish you can peek into a window with a view that may perhaps invigorate your senses for you not to fall asleep on top of your keyboard (not to mention drool over it unconsciously)? Well daydream no more because now you can download the amazing Daybreak Wallpaper at the end of this message to put color back to your rather dull desktop. Nature-themed wallpapers are proven effective imagery in bringing life to your tired eyes. So just click on that thumbnail and set that picture to full desktop coverage! Daybreak

By the way, I got this image from deviantART just so I don’t get sued or whatever.

Goo-Goo Garner

LOVESTRUCK :     Going Goo-Goo Gaga over Garner!

Alias_snipeI regret having MISSED so much of Jennifer Garner over the past few weeks. Bad reviews for her latest movie stint “Elektra” and the relatively boring 3rd season of her debut TV series “Alias” almost made me forget she even existed! Good thing though, while I was browsing through my mom’s horde of pirated DVDs, I caught a glimpse of her previous comedy hit “13 Going On 30”. I remember watching it with the entire family 3 months ago. Whew, that was quite a long time ago…

Autumn_garnerThen I suddenly recalled, I did scan a few in-takes of her from People Magazine during the filming of that movie.  I browsed through my thumbdrive and there it is, a classic shot of her enjoying the blissful winds of the urban park. Armed with the basic knowledge on photo manipulation via Adobe Photoshop 7, I quickly put life to the once dull yet expressive image. Haay… I sure do love her dimples and those PRETTY giggles!

Brini Bombshell

CONFIRMED :     Lifestyle Network Guru a Hoax!

Bmaxwell1_1 Since its debut to Philippine TV early this year, I have been perpetually fascinated with Brini Maxwell of "The Brini Maxwell Show", a household educational program featured in the Lifestyle Network (Channel 26 in Home Cable). Because of her strikingly blond hairdo and retro outlook, one might think of this television diva as more of a trophy wife and a fashion bombshell. What’s actually attractive about her is her ultra-class feminine mannerisms, her fancy artsy tastebuds and her motherly intuition. She is a classy lady with the right flare, feminine touch and amazing intellect plus a healthy hint of light humour that everybody loves. Then again, there’s a catch to all that strangely entertaining perfection - Brini is NOT what we think she is!

Bmaxwell2_1 As it would be shocking, I’ve read in a recent article in the Entertainment Section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer that Brini Maxwell is a fictional character portrayed effortlessly by an American drag performer named Ben Sander. With this, I furiously scoured the Internet (an action which I should have done way before during my initial liking of the character) and to my dismay, the deception is actually for real. Though her (or should it be ‘his’) tips maybe really helpful, I cannot help but think that my fascination to a matured gal came close to danger as I have been fooled by a gay impersonator! Still, I will continually look forward to my Saturday evening sessions with Brini Maxwell with even more fervor. Yes I will learn a lot of things and YES, this is to serve as a reminder for me that a ‘man’ is just two letters away from a ‘woman’.

"Now isn’t that lovely!" (-wink-)
